I love black and white wedding photography and I’ve just added a few of my favourite black and white wedding images from some of my recent weddings to my website.
I’ve always had a passion for B&W photography. Back in pre-digital days I would often be found in my darkroom printing under a dim red safelight, up to my elbows in developer and fixer. Even though it is much easier, in some ways, with digital cameras, I still miss the kick you used to get checking the strips of B&W negatives as you hung them up to dry and the thrill of an images appearing on the paper in the dish of developer!
Every one of my weddings include a percentage of black and white images. The exact percentage varies from wedding to wedding but is usually around 20 – 25%, as that seems stack up what most of my clients want. But this can be varied and is entirely up to you.
Occasionally, I get asked to photograph a wedding with all the images provided in black & white or to design an album entirely in black and white. I am always delighted to offer this option at no extra charge, as I believe that B&W photographs have an impact entirely different to colour images – and B&W images have a natural fit with my style of documentary wedding photography.
I offer Jorgensen matted albums and Graphistudio storybooks. Both album styles provide an elegant and stylish finish that complement black and white images perfectly and will never become outdated.
If you are a black and white photography lover and are considering having your wedding photographed entirely in black and white, please get in touch – I would be delighted to discuss this option with you.
