Back at the end of February I arranged a quick photoshoot with one of my model friends Liza Marie Dunnell with the intention of using some items that I had picked up in charity shops and one of the vintage fairs that are regularly held in Norwich. I do tend to haunt charity shops on the lookout for outfits, props and accessories that I can use for my book cover stock photography – often getting some very strange looks from the volunteers that work in them.
Liza is an experienced lifestyle and fashion model and we have worked together many times. I knew she would be able to carry off the 1940s/1950s style perfectly.
Liza arranged for Kerry Eaglen to do the vintage-styled make-up and another old friend Angela Barnes did Liza’s hair in a perfect retro style.
I wanted to use a location in Norwich that would not have changed a great deal from the 1940s/50s and the Pottergate/St Giles area seemed the ideal choice. We basically did a circuit of the area shooting a various stopping points on the way.
The slideshow below contains a selection of the images we shot that afternoon.
