Back at the start of September it was my great pleasure to photograph the civil partnership of Clare and Lorna. I had photographed Clare and Lorna’s pre-wedding shoot back on a very cold February day at Rougham. Luckily, the weather at the start of September was considerably warmer.
I met up with Clare and Lorna for the first stage of their celebrations at Kings Lynn Registry Office, located in the Kings Lynn Town Hall. This legal ceremony was attended by Clare & Lorna’s close friends and family. Clare and Lorna looked great in their summer dresses and it was an event that was full of smiles and laughter.
After a few photographs in the registry office courtyard and outside the Town Hall everyone decamped and set off to Rougham for the next stage of the celebrations – a blessing in the village church. Clare and Lorna arrived at the church in their dresses and looked an absolute picture. The service of blessing allowed Clare and Lorna to make their commitment to each other in a beautiful old church and was a lovely event to witness.
After the blessing it was outside for Pimms before going on to Clare’s Mum’s house for the reception – a very English afternoon tea. The speeches were a mixture of laughter and tears – just as they should be.
When everyone was completely stuffed with cakes and sandwiches the céilidh band, Fezziwig, started up seemingly determined to make sure that everyone danced their afternoon tea off!
The whole day was a pleasure to photograph and it was great to meet all of Clare and Lorna’s friends and family.
My best wishes to you both, Clare and Lorna.
